Hey Y'all
I wanted to update you on MB Bike Week.
Horry County will be limiting vendors to 7 days in the county for the 2 weeks. The first week is the cruiser week. The second is the sport bike week, which is the week they want to stop. Most of the vendors will be there the first week. B&M Custom Cycles in MB since 1989 closed their doors for good. Their sign out front says "Hey City Council You S--K". They were one of the largest after market parts dealers in the area. As of Friday Feb. 20,2009, the new laws passed by MB city council are tied up in Federal Court. We all know how slow they are, so expect the new laws to be in place for bike week.
Mike Shank, the promoter for bike, said "it will still go on".
I am going for 2 or 3 days to see how things go.
If you plan on going, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE BAFFLES IN YOUR PIPES!. MB Police will be strictly enforcing Noise and Helmet Laws.

Jester, you are right.
The dealers association has moved to N.C.
Cruising The Coast Promotions, the people who put on bike week, have not. Last weekend they had a protest ride from MB Harley into the city limits, 200 yards up the street, to protest the new laws. MB police were waiting for them and issued tickets for helmet and loud pipe violations. The number of tickets were someware between 50 and 200. I couldn't get an exact number. This ride was organized by the promotion company and MB H-D. This was done to take the new laws into the federal court system to prove they contradict our state laws and prove the laws violate out states constitution witch states "State laws supersede all local laws".
Bike week in Myrtle Beach is still on.
It's going to be intresting to see what happens!
I can wait.

I wanted to let you know that there are still wild fires burning around MB. The fires are not the problem but the smoke has closed some roads from time to time.
The Sun Times reported today that "safety check points" will be set up starting Thursday in and around MB stopping bikers.
Please be safe, obey their laws and have fun.
